Yes – I used a 6′ line on my vehicle searches. At my last trial Ron said we all worked too far away from our dogs on our vehicle searches. He suggested using a 6′ line so I purchased one and have tried using that. I actually do prefer a longer line – especially because Darcie is fast off the start line – but I understand his reasoning. I’ll go back and try my longer line to see if I can stay out of Darcie’s way.
So is a good rule of thumb when vehicles are parallel (or even in a triangle or whatever configuration) to stay OUTSIDE the vehicles and let the dog work inside to keep from blocking odor? Hmmmm.
