Gracie always shows such great work ethic! She got all 3 hides in about 50 seconds but continues to search for you. Now she’s already been paid a couple of times at previous hides, so that’s not always a good predictor BUT she hadn’t even investigated the other boxes (or odor) yet.
After she gets the last odor, she seems to just gravitate to odor boxes so she can be paid. She has a first “head-bob” at you around (1:17) before being paid at odor again and YES, I believe the “look” at (1:28) was her asking why you’re still having her search. She then investigates the tall box much harder, tries to go out to the grass, gets paid on an odor box again, then at (1:52) goes to the black box where she finds it much more interesting than previously. THIS is what can throw a handler and then the handler convinces the dog it’s important. Perfect move to let her investigate then get paid at odor again.
Yes, you could have taken her around to the grass side possibly, tho’ she seems to have investigated everything quite thoroughly.
Very nicely done! 🙂 On to PART B! 🙂
