Yes, you can actually place hides under the water. One of our Nationals had hides in small fish aquariums! (And yes, Emmy knocked one over, as did a few other dogs!) Think about the edge of a larger body of water or just a puddle. A stream is interesting to watch the dogs work odor from down-stream. Water hides are just a fun diversion and interesting to see how odor works in a different kind of environment. 🙂
