Molly did a nice job of investigating the containers – yes, even all the distractors! This is ok, we want to see what she looks like when she does check those out. What I was hoping to see would be a continuation of what you started in this search. She only got paid once. I would have preferred to keep her in the area, let her continue to investigate the distractors, but CHOOSE to go to odor instead, many times, so the distractors become insignificant.
I’m going to recommend you do this part of the exercise again, just keep her in the search for longer so she has a clear understanding of what pays and what doesn’t pay. You can place three odor boxes instead of one the next time so she has a lot of opportunity to have success! Make sure you pay him every time he goes to an odor box. Ideally he’ll start bouncing between odor boxes and not even care about the distractors. 🙂
