Molly is definitely a methodical searcher! 🙂 Sometimes that can be a huge help. What was in the box that got stuck on her head? She REALLY liked whatever that was!! 😀

Since part of this exercise is about getting the dog to the distractors several times, I would have liked to see her go back to them a few more times just to reinforce that ODOR is more important. Usually what happens is the dog’s interest fades as they realize they won’t be getting whatever it is, but if they go to odor they will be paid. You don’t need her to stick her head in the box 😉 but to have the opportunity to investigate and make a better choice (ODOR) is really important at this stage. Sometimes a more interesting reward is needed to override the interesting distractor. 🙂

As for the pawing, that’s where you would want to pay FAST! The longer you delay payment waiting for something from Molly, the more likely she’ll paw. So when you know where the hide is, don’t wait, just pay, especially on this exercise where she really would like to get into that cat food. 😉

Ok, let’s see what PART B shows us!
