    I was intrigued to notice the distractors that interested Blackie when I worked on our first lesson: I thought the box with a piece of prime rib in it would have been VERY appealing, but it barely elicited any interest. I wasn’t surprised that the salmon jerky treats interested her, since we use those treats as our Nose Work reward, and when we pair, that’s what is used. I was a little surprised that the box filled with her favorite toys was of interest — but they were some of her favorites, and I’m sure they each have their own highly identifiable odor.
