I’m sure you’re right. I think we were caught up in a spiral of not trusting one another: I was worried about her fear of gunfire and she was worried about what the devil I was doing and why I was so worried, and as a result, we didn’t just let it happen. In the judge’s debrief, he mentioned that those who allowed their dogs to work the wall found the fist hide. I know this!!! We did it very successfully at Blackie’s NW2 trial — and I almost broke my arm from patting myself on the back that day 🙂 But this time, I worried too much and feared she wasn’t working, when in fact she was, as our next video will show.
Trust your dog: not only to be truthful on alerts, but also to have a solid work ethic. That’s my lesson from this search!
